FAQ
1.
Who can rush Omega Phi Alpha?
Any student at NC State University in good standing with the university with a shared love of service.
2.
What is Omega Phi Alpha about?
We focus around our three primary pillars of Friendship, Leadership and Service. Ophia is a place to form strong bonds and friendships. We host a number of sisterhood events within our chapter like big/little reveal and retreat. Additionally, we provide a number of opportunities to strengthen and build leadership skills. Lastly, we all love service and a lot of our bonds are built through the numerous service projects sisters participate in each year to give back to our community and the communities abroad.
3.
What makes Omega Phi Alpha different from Panhellenic sororities?
Omega Phi Alpha is a sorority surrounded around service. We are classified as a service organization at NC State and typically only have around 60 members and we pride ourselves in being a tight knit community. Like panhellenic sororities, we participate in sisterhood events like retreat, formal, and big/little.
4.

6.
Do I have to attend every rush event in order to be eligible?
No! To rush for the opportunity of receiving a bid - you must attend ONE information session, two out of three of the pillar nights (service, sisterhood, and leadership & diversity), and the speed dating event. If you are extended a bid, you are encouraged to attend bid day on the following Sunday!
7.
What is speed dating?
Speed dating is a mandatory rush event that involves meeting active members of the sorority and answering questions based on character, leadership, service, and diversity. You will rotate around stations so that all of our members get a chance to meet you and hear why you'll be a perfect fit for us. (Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds!)
8.
Do you have a house?
Nope! Although, most of our sisters do choose to live with each other after spending time in the organization.
9.
What do I wear?
Definitely DON'T feel like you have to go out and buy something new! Wear whatever you feel comfortable in during the week, and stay tuned for more details on what each night entails. Speed dating is our most formal night, and we ask that you wear business casual.
10.
How much does it cost?
